Best Christmas Events in Singapore to Explore in 2020

With the Christmas season and its merriment approaching, most of us would probably be giving a lot of thought about where to spend the time during the season. With the Singapore Tourism Board taking necessary precautionary measures for everyone’s safety from Covid-19, attending Christmas events in Singapore is made easier.

Christmas is a huge celebration for us that allows us to do what we love the most - eating, shopping and exploring. Here are a few events to explore during the time of Christmas in Singapore:

Festive Light Up at the Orchard Road

Festivities in Singapore get into a full swing much before the Christmas season arrives - mostly from mid-November. The official light-up ceremony happens on 16th November letting everyone soak in the holiday mood way before Christmas. After the light-up, the Orchard Road becomes a wonderland of lights, colors, and sounds.

The Orchard Road gets decorated with lights - for 3.88 kilometers - from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura. It includes the Orchard Link, Scotts Road, and Grange Road, and the decorations remain until New Year celebrations giving you all the necessary feels of a sensory feast.

Christmas Wonderland

The annual Yule affair of Gardens by the Bay holds a special place in Singapore’s events calendar. Like every other year, Christmas Wonderland is reimagined as a hybrid event this year also. Lit up with dazzling lights at the Iconic Gardens, we can now enjoy an enchanting online experience at the comfort of our homes. It will be exciting to engage in interactive content and play fun games; we can also check out retailers selling festive wear and purchase them using a click.

The Great Christmas Village

The Great Christmas Village in Singapore brings you the much needed festive cheer and communal vibes. It starts from 23rd November and ends on the day after Christmas at Shaw House Urban Plaza, and Grange Road Car Park. The place is an excellent choice to have fun and explore a wide range of street food and festivities. The young-hearted ones who are on the lookout for good Christmas events in Singapore should check out Mini TOYBOX by Hasbro - it features activities such as obstacle courses and makeovers that are mainly themed around nostalgic brands such as NERF and My Little Pony.
